We wanted to take this opportunity to let patients know of the various health care professionals available to all patients registered at The Writtle Surgery.
We release appointments up to 4 weeks in advance so if you have a non urgent or routine problem you can book in advance, we release same day appointments to those with urgent more acute problems. We understand it can be very difficult to access the surgery by telephone, therefore we have increased the amount of appointments you can book online.
We are providing a holistic approach to care and whilst historically an appointment with a GP was the first choice, there are now many more accessible healthcare professionals who may be better suited to your specific needs.
We are part of the Chelmsford West Primary Care Network enabling us to access additional health services.
Physiotherapist
Stephen is our physiotherapist working at the surgery one day a week, patients can book an appointment with Stephen without having to see the GP first.
Social prescribers
We have a team of social prescribers aligned to the surgery, they are able to help with a range of social issues, such as benefits or housing problems. They can also help with loneliness or adapting your home to help with mobility issues. You do not need to speak to a GP first, please ask at reception, your details will be passed on and one of the team will contact you.
Pharmacists
Devi and Nike are able to speak to you for medication reviews, they can advise you if a product is out of stock. They are also able to do rheumatoid arthritis reviews and discuss your blood pressure.
Paramedic
A paramedic is working with our surgery. They will complete necessary home visits at the GPs request.
Health and wellbeing coaches
We have a team of health and well being coaches, they can advise you about changing your routines, difficulty sleeping, weight loss advice and motivation. You do not need to speak to a GP first, please ask at reception, your details will be passed on and one of the team will contact you.
Mental health nurse
A Mental Health Nurse is working with our surgery.
